Our Location
We hear the sound of tires crunching as they drive down a country road leading to a modest space where upon pulling up you already sense something special. That sounds conducive right?
King David had a grand cedar house for himself. It was locatable. It was on the northern tip of the City of David in Jerusalem. In 2 Sam. 7, though, David wanted to build God a house- get it on the map all fine and fancy. But that wasn’t God’s plan. What’s God’s plan for Peterson House? It is not lost on us that we have “house” in our name, but not a house with an address. We may not have a Nathan to tell us what to do, but we do have an attentiveness to the Spirit’s guidance. Through that, we feel like a small, yet important, part of a bigger plan God is building—one that is much more than a map dot. It is a forever kingdom instead of any impermanent structure we have in mind for God. We are humbled to be a part of that plan in a world that needs that kind of shelter.
Who knows what Peterson House will look like? Or where it will be located? Maybe the best response to anyone asking, “Where are you located?, is- We are in the text! And we are going to be there for a while. You should stop by and see us— whether on Zoom or wherever we are meeting in person at that time.
Our current in person groups for winter/spring 2026 meet at Journey Community Church in Chapel Hill off of Weaver Dairy Road.
